I set up the outlook web mail here at work (RPC over HTTP) and used the e-mail client to just hook up through that. It gets the tasks right and handles contact pictures.ĭoes the Google Apps Synch for MS Outlook only work if your business switches totally to Google Apps? I need to keep my info on my company's Exchange server and sync it up with the phone, not move or transition to another server or anything like that.Ĭan this do simple sync contacts, calendar, and notes? I don't know if it syncs with Outlook directly.Īfter my fair share of searching and trying this and that I settled on gSyncit.

It has a 30 free trial with all functions available.Įdit: Should mention this syncs with an Exchange server. The Companion piece expires after 14 days, so was wondering if there was anything else out there. I downloaded DejaOffice along with the Compainion.

Best Outlook Sync? I made the move from my loved but aging HTC Fuze to the Samsung Captivate.I was waiting on Windows Phone 7 but the wait was killing me.Īnyway, I wanted to see what was generally considered the best way to sync Outlook's contacts, calendars, tasks and notes. Well, Google Calendar Sync works perfectly well for me!
Since you're not using the native contacts or calendar on your device, can you simply remove these icons from your homescreen and replace them with the CompanionLink DejaContacts? I've heard a lot good things about CompanionLink but can anyone confirm if there is a lag in opening the Deja apps (i.e., DejaContacts, DejaCalendar)? Thanks for sharing your experience CaelanT!
I agree with you regarding Companion Link, and it has worked flawlessly for me since I started using it. Google's calendar sync isn't very good, and is poorly supported.

The Google sync application doesn't work worth a snuff. If you want just the calendar then go for the Google Calendar Sync. It is very useful if you sync Tasks, contacts, etc with Outlook, similar to what DM does for BB or Active Sync for WM. I did use Companion Link initially, and actually they will even return your money if you decide that you don't need it within 90 days (don't remember exactly). Same with the company I work for so I use Google Calendar sync and it works perfectly. Or search for "Google Calendar sync" software. search for "sync with Microsoft outlook" on the Google calendar help and you'll find it quickly. I can't post a link but you can try syncing your outlook with google calendar. Every form of media I use from laptop HDD to thumb drives is encrypted. That's for company I work for and not a general statement. If you have BB or iPhone you can connect to exchange.Android phone is SOL until possibly 3.0.

Why not connect to the Exchange server directly?Ĭan't, company blocks Android ATM because it's not secure enough, otherwise I would do that. If its a work calendar, I am assuming they use Exchange. It's expensive to buy after trial, but if it continues to auto sync OK for me, I will be buying it. I am still using the trial which is 100% functional for 14 days, and it seems to do exactly what I needed. The following software did a 1st class sync of my contacts and calendar: which I had created, and not items I had been invited to, or which were created by other people. Everything I tried would only sync meetings, appointments, etc.
Companion Link - Android Sync - Atrix 4G General I had been searching for a way to sync my work calendar in Outlook 2007 to Google properly so I can get my work calendar on my phone.
